Road traffic

We recognise the importance of maintaining the ability to drive. We acknowledge that, for a licence holder, being disqualified from driving or, in some cases, simply having one’s licence endorsed, can have a profound impact on the life of that person and their family.

Crowe Humble Wesencraft regularly represent people who are accused of road traffic offences, ranging from the more serious allegations such as dangerous driving through to less serious offences such as driving without insurance, speeding and contravening traffic signals.
Driving offences

We are often asked to assist, when people face the prospect of a totting up disqualification, having accrued 12 or more penalty points on their licence within a 3-year period. We have a track record of helping people who find themselves in these circumstances keep their driving licences by successfully advancing what are known as “exceptional hardship” arguments.
Alcohol test

We also regularly conduct what are known as “special reasons” hearings, when legal submissions can be made with a view to persuading a court not to endorse an offenders driving licence or not to disqualify the offender from driving. Special reasons must be connected to the offence and can arise in situations where somebody unwittingly drove without insurance, as well as in some drink drive cases, for example, where only a very short distance was driven or where somebody’s drinks were spiked.

We are able to assist in connection with all types of road traffic cases and regularly represent people at courts throughout the North East. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you require assistance.
