Michael qualified as a solicitor in 1995 and, having initially worked in London, began practising criminal defence in Newcastle in 1997. Michael helped set up Crowe Humble Wesencraft in 2002 and, along with John Wesencraft, is responsible for managing the practice. Michael undertakes the full range of criminal cases and handles most of the firm’s serious crime including murders and large scale conspiracies. Popular with clients, Michael is noted for his endeavour, approachability and accessibility. Michael is a member of the local duty solicitor schemes.

Now a consultant with the firm, Mark helped set up Crowe Humble Wesencraft along with Michael Crowe and John Wesencraft in 2002. Qualified since 1987, Mark is a very experienced criminal defence practitioner, who has handled the full range of criminal matters. Popular with the Magistracy, court staff and colleagues, Mark is recognised for his calm and unfussy approach to cases. Like all of the firm’s solicitors, Mark is a member of the local police station and Court Duty Solicitors’ Scheme.

Alanna completed her training contract with Crowe Humble Wesencraft, qualifying as a solicitor in 2005, since when she has practised exclusively in criminal defence. A tenacious and fearless advocate, Alanna is sought after by clients, who warm to her bubbly and infectious personality. Although Alanna handles the full range of criminal cases, from murder to road traffic, she has a particular interest in youth crime and is regarded as one of the foremost youth crime lawyers in the area.
